
Red-Hot Skyhawks Conclude Regular Season With Sweep Of Competition At Music City Classic

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin STUNT program's sizzling run continued today as the Skyhawks posted two more victories at the Music City Classic. UT Martin defeated Purdue Northwest by a 15-8 margin before downing Quincy by a 22-0 score in the regular season finale.
The Skyhawks have now won eight of their last nine decisions and enter the postseason with an 8-4 record. UT Martin's 22-0 triumph over Quincy today matched the program's widest margin of victory, equaling its efforts against Northern Kentucky (22-0 on March 16) and Central Arkansas (23-1 on March 27) earlier this season.
In the first game of the day against Purdue Northwest, the Skyhawks were a perfect 4-for-4 in points during the first quarter, which features partner stunts. UT Martin collected three more points as part of the pyramids and tosses second quarter to claim a 7-1 advantage at halftime. The Skyhawks took a 9-4 edge at the conclusion of the third quarter (jumps and tumbling) and outscored the Pride by a 6-4 margin in the final quarter (team routine). Addison Cary's 12 points led the way for UT Martin while the Skyhawks also received double-digit scoring performances out of Emily Hartley (11), Ali Workman (10), Kaity Mistretta (10), CeCelia Dollison (10) and Emily Wood (10).
UT Martin carried that momentum into its next contest, racing out to a 3-0 edge over Quincy after the partner stunts first quarter. The Skyhawks accumulated all four points in the second quarter (pyramids and tosses) and accomplished the same feat with a 4-for-4 effort in the third period (jumps and tumbling). Holding an 11-0 lead going into the team routine fourth quarter, UT Martin doubled its score in the final period to close out a dominant win. Cary once again guided the Skyhawks with a team-best 17 points while Workman (16), Hartley (16), Mistretta (13), Ashley Myles (13), Dollison (13), Braylee Smith (13), Wood (12), Natalie King (11), Emma Phelps (10) and Ti'Aisia Tate (10) additionally posted double figures in the scoring column for UT Martin.
Next up for the Skyhawks is the Mid America West Conference Tournament, which will take place on Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5 in Lexington, Ky.
