
UT Martin’s Record-Setting Season Comes To An End As Cary, Elenbaas Nab Mid America West Conference Accolades

MARTIN, Tenn. – The historic 2026 University of Tennessee at Martin STUNT season was closed out today as the Skyhawks battled but fell 31-27 to Missouri State in the Mid America West Conference Championship semifinals at the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center.
UT Martin concludes its spring with a 16-6 overall record – passing the 15 combined victories in the program's first two years. The Skyhawks set a program record with 10 consecutive wins to begin the season and earned the No. 3 seed in the Mid America West Conference Championship tournament, which the school hosted for the first time ever.
UT Martin stayed within striking distance throughout its matchup against Missouri State today. The Skyhawks trailed 7-4 after the partner stunts first quarter but pulled within a single point at halftime (11-10) following the pyramids and tosses second quarter. The Bears led by a 16-13 margin after the jumps and tumbling third quarter and UT Martin could not catch up despite 14 points in the team routine fourth quarter.
RyanBeth Goodman, Addison Cary, Emily Wilcher, Braylee Smith, Mia Henry and Livia Comuzie each guided the Skyhawks with eight points apiece. Sidnee Smith, Jennifer Jaco, Alyssa Calamia and Emily Wood each followed closely behind with seven points for UT Martin.
A pair of Skyhawks were recognized with postseason honors after the tournament was completed as Cary was named to the All-Mid America West Conference first team and Makayla Elenbaas was spotlighted as Mid America West Conference Rookie of the Year. A junior from Martin, Tenn., Cary topped UT Martin in scoring five times this season and accumulated 227 total points in 311 rounds (both ranking second on the team). Elenbaas' 195 season points ranked sixth on the Skyhawk squad as the Riverside, Calif. native took part in 240 rounds.
