NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin STUNT squad concluded its weekend with a victory today, defeating East Stroudsburg by a 28-15 margin. Earlier in the day, the Skyhawks fell 29-5 to five-time defending national champion Cal Baptist.
The victory in the nightcap was one for the record book as it improved UT Martin to 11-2 on the season, passing last season's squad for the most single-season wins in program history.
The Skyhawks held their own in the first game of the season but ran into a buzzsaw as Cal Baptist improved to 130-0 all-time since launching its program. UT Martin trailed 4-0 at the end of the first quarter (partner stunts) and were behind by a 9-1 margin following the second quarter (pyramids and tosses). The Skyhawks tacked on another point in the third quarter (jumps and tumbling) before compiling three more points in fourth quarter (team routine).
UT Martin led throughout its second game of the day, building up a 4-2 advantage following the partner stunts first quarter. The Skyhawks extended their lead out to 9-3 after the pyramids and tosses second quarter before taking a 14-6 lead following the jumps and tumbling third quarter. UT Martin sealed the victory by doubling up its score in the final period, outscoring East Stroudsburg by a 14-9 margin in the team routine fourth quarter.
The Skyhawks wrap up the 2026 regular season next weekend, traveling to Lexington, Ky. for four games (three against Mid America West Conference competition). UT Martin will collide against South Carolina and tournament host Kentucky on Friday, March 27 before battling Central Arkansas and Missouri State on Saturday, March 28.
