
UT Martin Edged Out In Overtime By Mercyhurst

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The first overtime game in the University of Tennessee at Martin's three-year STUNT history occurred today as the Skyhawks fell by a slim 30-28 margin to Mercyhurst.
UT Martin (10-1, 4-1 Mid America West Conference) led for a majority of the contest but Mercyhurst outscored the Skyhawks 12-11 in the fourth quarter to force overtime. UT Martin battled in the one-round overtime period but unfortunately was outscored, 5-3.
The Skyhawks led 4-2 after the partner stunts first quarter and added on for a 10-7 halftime advantage following the pyramids and tosses second quarter.
UT Martin led by a 14-13 score after the jumps and tumbling third quarter but Mercyhurst was awarded three points in the first round of the team routine fourth quarter to take its first lead of the day. It was the Skyhawks who fought back to outscore Mercyhurst 4-3 in the final round of the quarter, forcing overtime.
UT Martin left it all on the floor in the extra period but unfortunately Mercyhurst was able to sneak away with the win.
The Skyhawks will play a pair of games tomorrow on the campus of Trevecca Nazarene, taking on Cal Baptist at 11:45 a.m. before a matchup against East Stroudsburg at 5:35 p.m.
