
UT Martin Sweeps Opening Day Of 2026 Campaign

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The first day of the University of Tennessee at Martin's 2026 STUNT season was a rousing success as the Skyhawks soared to victories over Central Arkansas (30-19) and Drury (30-16).
The first win of the day was the first time in the three-year history of the program that UT Martin won its true season opener, improving to 7-0 all-time against the Bears. The nightcap featured the first-ever meeting against the Skyhawks and Panthers as UT Martin nearly doubled up Drury.
Against Mid America West Conference foe Central Arkansas, the score was knotted at 3-all after the first quarter (partner stunts). The Skyhawks took a 9-6 advantage at the halftime break, outscoring the Bears by a 6-3 margin in the second quarter (pyramids and tosses). UT Martin extended its lead out to 15-8 after tacking on six points in the third quarter (jumps and tumbling) before putting together a dominant fourth quarter (team routine) – piling up 15 more points on the way to the victory.
Braylee Smith posted a team-best 18 points for the Skyhawks against the Bears while RyanBeth Goodman (13), Addison Cary (12), Mia Henry (12), Kira Butz (11), Livia Comuzie (11), Jameson VanWormer (10), Makayla Elenbaas (10) and Emily Wilcher (10) also scored in double figures for UT Martin.
The Skyhawks kept the momentum going in their second match of the day, never trailing throughout the entirety of the matchup. UT Martin led 5-4 following the partner stunts opening quarter and held a 10-6 edge at the halftime break after securing five more points in the pyramids and tosses second quarter. The Skyhawks added five more points to its score during the jumps and tumbling third quarter to tout a 15-9 lead. A dominant finish – outscoring the Panthers by a 15-7 margin in the team routine fourth quarter – provided a fitting end to the day for UT Martin.
A whopping 13 Skyhawks reached double-digit point tallies against Drury, led by Cary's 16 points. Braylee Smith (13), Emily Wood (13), Sidnee Smith (12), Alyssa Calamia (12), Henry (12), VanWormer (11), Goodman (11), Wilcher (11), Cayla Garner (11), Comuzie (11), Butz (10) and Elenbaas (10) each followed closely behind for UT Martin.
The Skyhawks are back at it next weekend, traveling to Highland Heights, Ky. for four games. UT Martin will take on Hiram and Tiffin on Saturday, Feb. 14 before battling Purdue and MAWC rival Northern Kentucky on Sunday, Feb. 15.
