Skyhawks Add Two More Victories On First Day Of Northern Kentucky Tournament

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The University of Tennessee at Martin STUNT squad tacked on two more in the win column today as the Skyhawks defeated Hiram (23-0) and Tiffin (27-12) on Day 1 of a tournament hosted by Northern Kentucky.
With the victories, UT Martin is now 4-0 to begin the 2026 season – extending its own best start in program history.
Matching up against Hiram for the first time ever, the Skyhawks took an early lead and never looked back. UT Martin managed a 3-0 advantage following the first quarter (partner stunts) before collecting all four points in the second quarter (pyramids and tosses). The Skyhawks picked up all four points in the third quarter (jumps and tumbling) and finished strong with a clean 12-0 sweep of the fourth quarter (team routine) to conclude the victory.
Kira Butz and Braylee Smith shared the team lead with 13 points apiece for the Skyhawks. Makayla Elenbaas (12 points), Addison Cary (11), Emily Wood (11), Jameson VanWormer (10), RyanBeth Goodman (10), Jennifer Jaco (10), Alexa Stock (10) and Mia Henry (10) also turned in double-digit scoring performances for UT Martin.
The Skyhawks continued their successful day in the second game, leading 3-1 after the partner stunts first quarter. UT Martin then shut out (4-0) the Dragons in the pyramids and tosses second quarter before taking a 13-4 advantage following the jumps and tumbling third quarter. In the team routine fourth quarter, the Skyhawks pieced together 14 more points to provide the final scoring margin.
Braylee Smith's 16 points led the way for UT Martin while Goodman (12), Cary (12), Henry (11), Wood (11), Butz (10), Sidnee Smith (10), Emily Wilcher (10), Alyssa Calamia (10), Livia Comuzie (10) additionally accounted for double figure scoring efforts.
UT Martin closes out its tournament appearance tomorrow with matchups against Purdue (10:30 a.m.) and Mid America West Conference foe Northern Kentucky (1:30 p.m.).
