UT MARTIN STUNT ADDS ANOTHER WIN ON FINAL DAY OF 2024 REGULAR SEASON

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The regular season finale took place today with two games for the University of Tennessee at Martin STUNT program as the Skyhawks defeated Central Arkansas (17-4) before falling to Maryville (21-4) on the campus of Trevecca Nazarene University.
UT Martin wraps up its inaugural regular season with a 4-6 record while a trip to the STUNT Division I National Championship on the horizon. That postseason tournament will take place on Saturday, April 13 through Sunday, April 14 in Lexington, Ky.
The day began with a dominant victory over Central Arkansas as the Skyhawks defeated Central Arkansas for the second time in 2024 (also winning 20-6 on March 3 in St. Louis, Mo.). UT Martin led 2-1 after the partner stunts first quarter before claiming a 5-2 advantage at the halftime break, outscoring the Bears by a 3-1 margin in the pyramids and tosses second quarter. The Skyhawks expanded upon their lead after winning four points (to Central Arkansas' none) in the jumps and tumbling third quarter. In the final quarter (team routine), UT Martin was responsible for eight of the 10 awarded points to put the finishing touches on the victory.
Emily Hartley (16 points), Addison Cary (14 points) and Violet Gillilan (13 points) paved the way for the Skyhawk triumph against the Bears.
UT Martin put up a battle against Maryville but the Saints improved to 9-6 after their third straight win. Maryville took a 4-0 lead following the first quarter (partner stunts) and led 8-0 at the halftime intermission after another 4-0 score in the second quarter (pyramids and tosses). The Skyhawks played the Saints to a 2-2 tie in the third quarter (jumps and tumbling) while Maryville claimed an 11-2 advantage in the team routine fourth quarter.
Hartley registered a team-high four points for UT Martin against the Saints.
