MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin soccer program shattered its high in scoring as the Skyhawks tallied 10 goals today. UT Martin was led by Jaden Hildreth's hat trick and a host of other Skyhawk strikers.

UT Martin (2-1) saw Hildreth place three shots into the back of the net. Hildreth becomes the fourth Skyhawk to record a hat trick and the first since Abi Sanvee on Oct. 28, 2012 against Tennessee Tech. Blare Gerido picked up a pair of goals while Samantha Kelly, Danae Kaldaridou, Alice Adams and Nicole Collins all tallied a goal each. Bella Roberts led the squad in assists as she racked up two in the contest while Katelyn Colvin, Hendrikje Baurmann and Adams rounded out the assist column.

Makenzie Crawford drew the starting nod and picked up the victory as she played the first 69:40 of the match before Callie Thomas finished out the match.

Miah Olaleye and Jacalyn Schubring were the two lone Skyhawks to play the match in its entirety as both provided valuable time on the back line.

"I think today was difficult in the sense of us having played on the road on Friday," said head coach Phil McNamara. "I am really proud of the girls for how they played today. We had a lot of different goal scorers and assists form several players as well which is good for their confidence. It was really good to spread out the playing time today as we have three games in six days. Today was all about staying healthy. We were able to rest some players today which is also good going forward. We are 2-1 and should probably be 3-0 but we learned a lot from that first match and have seen the lessons pay off."

The Skyhawks got on the scoreboard at the five-minute mark and never looked back as Kelly opened the scoring barrage on a hot pass from Colvin to connect for a goal at point blank range. Gerido then took a pass from Baurmann to head in her first goal of the day. Hildreth got started in the 29^th minute as she took a lob off of a head pass from Roberts to bet the keeper in a one-on-one scenario before Roberts connected for a goal of her own on an unassisted run. The Hildreth-Roberts combo came into effect at the 40:53 mark as Roberts issued a hot pass to Hildreth who hammered the ball into the net for her second goal of the matchup.

UT Martin came out of the halftime with a goal just over two minutes into the second period as Gerido tallied her second of the day. Kaldaridou was then awarded a penalty kick and made the most of her opportunity to find the back of the net. At the 72:52 mark, Hildreth racked up the coveted hat trick as she netted her third goal of the matchup. The ninth Skyhawk goal came in an odd fashion as the Jackson State goalkeeper attempted to clear the ball but hit Adams who forced the ball into the net. Collins found the last goal for UT Martin in the 81^st minute as she took a pass from Adams to connect for the final Skyhawk goal.

UT Martin returns to action on Wednesday, Aug. 29 as it welcomes Evansville to Skyhawk Field. First touch is slated for 6:30 p.m.
