MARTIN, Tenn. – Regional foes, old rivals and new challenges highlight the 2026 University of Tennessee at Martin soccer schedule, announced by head coach Mike Varga Thursday.
"Our non-conference schedule presents a lot of challenges that will help prepare us for our OVC slate," said Varga. "We were able to put together a schedule that will allow us to play some teams we haven't played in a while, and we have some excellent matchups at home. We also wanted to be sure we had difficult matches on the road to mimic what we will see in the latter part of the season. We will definitely be challenged every time we step on the field and I am confident that this group will be excited and ready for the season."
UT Martin will open the season with a pair of home exhibition matches Aug. 5 and Aug. 8 against Arkansas State and Northwest Mississippi CC, respectively. The season will begin in earnest on the road when the Skyhawks travel to Chattanooga Aug. 12, followed by a trip to the Windy City Aug. 16 to meet Chicago State for the first time.
The Skyhawks will meet five former OVC rivals in non-conference play this season, with home matches against Middle Tennessee Aug. 20, Belmont Sept. 3, and Jacksonville State Sept. 20, as well as road trips to Murray State Aug. 27 and Austin Peay Sept. 10.
Other non-conference matches this season include at Illinois State Aug. 23, home against Marshall Aug. 30, at Central Arkansas Sept. 6 and at home against Southern Illinois Sept. 13.
The Ohio Valley Conference portion of the schedule begins for the Skyhawks on the road Sept. 27 at Southern Indiana. Other OVC road matches include SIUE Oct. 10, Western Illinois Oct. 18 and Eastern Illinois. Nov. 1. In home league action, UT Martin will host Lindenwood Oct. 4, Morehead State Oct. 15 and Southeast Missouri for Senior Day Oct. 24.
The 2026 OVC Women's Soccer Championship will run over two weeks from Nov. 7-15 at campus sites.
