MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team looks to keep its momentum rolling as it welcomes the Evansville Purple Aces to Skyhawk Field for a midweek matchup. First touch is slated for Wednesday, Aug. 29 at 6:30 p.m.
UT Martin (2-1) is coming off of an outing in which it shattered its previous high in goals as the Skyhawks found the back of the net 10 times against Jackson State on Sunday. Jaden Hildreth is coming off of an impressive showing as she picked up a hat trick against the Lady Tigers while six other Skyhawks also recorded at least one goal.
Hildreth leads the way in scoring as her three goals pace UT Martin. Danae Kaldaridou and Blare Gerido have tallied a pair of goal apiece thus far on the year while Bella Roberts, Alice Adams, Skylor Keane, Nicole Collins, Amy McGivern and Samantha Kelly have also proved to be scoring threats in the young season. Roberts and Colvin have been credited with two assists each as Adams, Keane and Hendrikje Baurmann have also tallied an assist on the season.
In goal, UT Martin has seen three players make their mark this year as senior Makenzie Crawford leads the pack. She has recorded three saves and allowed just one goal in her 159:40 between the posts thus far. As a team, the Skyhawk goalkeepers have stopped four would-be goals and have posted a 1.00 goals against average.
Evansville (1-2) is led by Jayme-Lee Hunter (two goals) and Montana Portenier (one goal) with Portenier's scoring kick being a game-winner. The trio of Portenier, Amanda DaSilva and Mandy Hamm have all tallied an assist for the Purple Aces. A total of four Evansville strikers have put multiple shots on goal including Hunter, Sara Osinski, Emily Ormson and Mikayla Harvey.
Michaela Till has started all three matches between the posts for the Purples Aces as she has recorded 16 saves and posted a 2.00 goals against average. Julie Rabe has logged 45 minutes in goal and stopped two would-be goals in that span for 10th year head coach Krista McKendree.
