
Second-Place Skyhawks Host SIUE Saturday and Sunday

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin softball team looks to build on its 7-2 Ohio Valley Conference record when it welcomes SIUE to Bettye Giles Field for a three-game series Saturday and Sunday. The two teams will play a doubleheader at Noon Saturday, followed by a single game Sunday also at Noon.
About The Skyhawks
The Skyhawks enter the weekend with the OVC's best overall record at 19-14 and are currently tied for second in the league standings, with Southern Indiana, at 7-2. UT Martin has swept each of its previous two league series against Southeast Missouri and Tennessee State. On the base paths, Kennedy Brown and Karena Recrosio are tied for the most stolen bases in the OVC at 15 each, with Kennedy Brown currently a perfect 15-for-15.
As a team, the Skyhawks have the second-best batting average in the OVC at .295 and the best ERA in the league at 4.30. They are currently 17th in the nation in total stolen bases with 66 and 25th in the country in stolen bases per game at 2.00. Additionally, UT Martin ranks 15 in Division I with 12 triples and 22nd nationally in triples per game at 0.36.
