MARTIN, Tenn. – University of Tennessee at Martin head softball coach Chelsea Farmer has announced the hiring of Alli (Robinson) Hissam as an assistant coach for the 2027 season, working with hitters and infielders.
Hissam played for the Skyhawks in 2024 and 2025 and returns to Bettye Giles field after spending one season as the assistant coach at former Ohio Valley Conference rival Tennessee Tech.
"We are creating a culture here that players can thrive in and that alumni can be proud of," said Farmer. "Bringing Alli back as an assistant coach is proof of that and we are so excited to start working as an all-alumni staff."
While at Tennessee Tech, Hissam also worked primarily with the hitters, coaching three All-OVC honorees, including Jailynn Paderez, who was just one of 10 OVC players to finish the 2026 season batting over .360.
Before her time in Cookeville, Hissam spent two seasons with the Skyhawks, during which she earned All-OVC and All-Newcomer honors. Before coming to Martin, Hissam was a standout at West Virginia Wesleyan, where she racked up All-Conference, All-Region and All-American honors.
Hissam graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan in 2023 with a degree in exercise science and earned a master's from UT Martin in 2025 in sport coaching and performance.
