Skyhawks Fall to No. 12 Mississippi State on the Road Wednesday

STARKVILLE, Miss. – The University of Tennessee at Martin softball team dropped a 7-0 decision on the road to 12th-ranked Mississippi State Wednesday at Nusz Park in Starkville.
Bulldog pitcher Peja Goold tossed a complete-game no-hitter for Mississippi State, striking out 13 Skyhawks and giving up just one walk.
Avary Makarewicz had the lone walk for UT Martin in the game, while Joleanna Fox and Ashtyn Green each had a strikeout in the circle.
This weekend, the second-place Skyhawks welcome SIUE to Bettye Giles Field for a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series. The two teams will play a doubleheader Saturday beginning at Noon, followed by the series finale Sunday, also at Noon.
