
UT Martin’s Successful Campaign Comes To An End At Division I STUNT National Championship

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A 2025 season full of accomplishments closed for the University of Tennessee at Martin today as the Skyhawks fell to Kentucky (15-0) and Mercyhurst (15-10) in its second straight berth in the Division I STUNT National Championship tournament.
UT Martin wrapped up its second season of existence with a 10-8 overall record, doubling its win record from its inaugural campaign. The Skyhawks went 5-2 in Mid America West Conference play and earned the No. 3 seed in this week's national event.
In the first match of the day, No. 2 seed Kentucky was able to take a 4-0 lead after the opening quarter (partner stunts) and added four more points in the second quarter (pyramids and tosses). UT Martin battled but was outscored 4-0 in the third quarter (jumps and tumbling) before the Wildcats scored the first three points of the team routine fourth quarter, wrapping up the game.
Addison Cary (13 rounds played), Ashley Myles (12), Emily Hartley (12), Ali Workman (11), Jade Reed (11) and Braylee Smith (10) led the Skyhawks in the first matchup.
A few hours later against No. 4 seed Mercyhurst, UT Martin hung tough throughout but fell by a slim margin. The Skyhawks got on the scoreboard in the first quarter (partner stunts), trailing 4-1 at the end of the frame. UT Martin added two more points in the pyramids and tosses second quarter to make the score 6-3 at the halftime intermission. The Skyhawk deficit remained at three (9-6) following the jumps and tumbling third quarter. UT Martin dialed up four points in the fourth quarter (jumps and tumbling) but it ultimately wasn't enough.
Cary's 10 points guided the Skyhawks and was followed by Hartley (nine), Myles (nine), Workman (seven), Smith (seven) and Wood (seven).
