- The University of Tennessee at Martin softball team opened its 2025 Ohio Valley Conference campaign last weekend by going 1-2 at Southeast Missouri in Cape Girardeau. The Skyhawks fell twice Saturday but bounced back and staved off a late Redhawk rally for a 6-5 win Sunday.
 - The Skyhawks are batting .246 as a unit on the year and are led by Alli Robinson at .298. Robinson also leads her team with 15 RBIs, 17 hits and three doubles. In the circle, UT Martin has a team ERA of 3.83, while opponents hit .278 against them. Ashtyn Green has been the go-to for the Skyhawks at pitcher so far this season, as she is 5-1 with a save, a team-low ERA of 1.36, 27 strikeouts compared to just eight walks, and an opponent's batting average of .295.
 - Lindenwood went 1-2 at home against Eastern Illinois to open OVC play last weekend, before falling to Evansville twice at home Wednesday in midweek action. After losing 3-1 and 2-1 earlier this week to Evansville, the Lions now stand at 10-11 on the year.
 - Lindenwood is batting .213 on the season, while opponents are hitting .260 against them. Jolie McMinn leads Lindenwood with a batting average of .286 with two doubles, two home runs, and five RBIs, while Irelynn West follows at .277 with team-highs of four doubles, four home runs, and eight RBIs.
 - As a pitching staff, the Lions have an ERA of 2.77, are striking out 5.8 batters over seven innings, have a WHIP of 1.45, and a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 1.84:1. Avery Wapp leads the Lions in the circle at 4-3 with a team-low ERA of 1.88 and a team-high of 50 strikeouts.
 - The 2025 season will be Lindenwood's third in the OVC with UT Martin leading the all-time series between the two teams, 5-1. The Skyhawks swept the first series in 2023 in Martin, then went 2-1 against the Lions last season in Saint Charles.
 - UT Martin is currently the best defensive team in the OVC and one of the best in the nation. The Skyhawks' .972 fielding percentage leads the league and is the 42nd-best average in the nation, as they average less than one error per game on the season.
 - The Skyhawks have been busy on the base paths this season, currently ranking 19th in Division I and leading the OVC with 2.3 stolen bases per game. In the win over Southeast Missouri, UT Martin swiped a season-high seven stolen bases, while Kyla Harley became the first Skyhawk this season to steal three bases in one game. Harley and Kennedy Brown lead UT Martin in stolen bases on the year at 11 each with Brown being one of only 13 players nationally that averaged at least 0.5 stolen bases per game that has not been caught stealing yet this season.
