
UT MARTIN SOFTBALL TO HOST MEMPHIS FOR TUESDAY AFTERNOON MATCHUP

The University of Tennessee at Martin softball team will welcome in-state foe Memphis to Bettye Giles Field on Tuesday, Apr. 11 for a non-conference matchup. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
UT Martin (15-17) picked up its first three-game sweep of the season after knocking off Tennessee Tech last weekend. The Skyhawks posted a .306 batting average against the Golden Eagles while boasting a 2.23 ERA. Junior Katie Dreiling had a big weekend as she paced the team both in the batter's box and in the pitching circle. Dreiling had a .556 batting average with two home runs and three RBIs while also posting a 2-0 record with a 0.00 ERA in 10.0 innings of work.
Junior Kaci Fuller still sits atop the team's leaderboard with a .437 batting average while tallying 15 extra-base hits and 28 RBIs. Dreiling ranks second on the team with a .346 average on the season while sitting tied with Kaitlyn Kelley with five home runs.
Five pitchers saw action last weekend against Tennessee Tech but Brooklynn Linneman paces the team innings pitched with 76.2 while posting a 5-5 record and 2.56 ERA. Dreiling leads the squad with an 8-5 record while posting a 2.97 ERA in 63.2 innings of work.
Memphis enters the matchup with a 6-32 record. Most recently, the Tigers came up on the short end of a three-game sweep by nationally ranked Wichita State as they were outscored 40-5 in the series. The Tigers are 0-2 against common opponents after dropping contests to Eastern Illinois (9-6) and SIUE (3-0) this season.
