
SOCCER SKYHAWKS SET TO KICKOFF HOME SLATE AGAINST JACKSON STATE

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin soccer program is ready to open its home schedule by hosting Jackson State on Sunday, Aug. 26. First touch is set for 2 p.m.
UT Martin (1-1) is coming off its first victory of the 2018 season as it claimed a 3-1 victory over Marshall on Friday. Skylor Keane tallied three points in the win as she netted a goal and also racked up an assist. Amy McGivern and Danae Kaldaridou also found the back of the net in the contest.
Two matches into the season, the Skyhawks are led by Keane (one goal and one assist) while Kaldaridou and McGivern have also shown their scoring ability. Along with McGivern, Kaldaridou and Keane, Kamryn Chappell has played over 160 minutes for UT Martin and has been a valuable member of the Skyahwk back line of defenders.
Both Makenzie Crawford (three saves) and Erica Myers (one save) have started a match apiece and logged 90 minutes so far this year. The two goalkeepers have averaged for a respectable 1.50 goals against average and .800 save percentage so far this season.
Jackson State (0-2) is led by Jalah Carter (one goal and one shot) while Patricia Calderon, Jolene Ceniceros and Alexis Henriquez have also put up shots on the young season. In goal, Faith Toennies has seen the bulk of the playing time as she has recorded 16 saves on the year thus far. Rachyl Robles (six saves) has also provided the Lady Tigers with valuable minutes between the posts under head coach Stephen Peck.
