UT Martin’s 58th Annual Spring College Rodeo All Set For Thursday Through Saturday

MARTIN, Tenn. – The 58th Annual University of Tennessee at Martin Spring College Rodeo will take place on Thursday, April 9 through Saturday, April 11 at the Ned McWherter Agricultural Complex. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. each night with performance rounds beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Sellout crowds are once again anticipated as all tickets are reserved chairback seating. Thursday's admission is $12 while prices for Friday and Saturday are $20 each day. An all-session season ticket option is also available for $52. Children ages five and under get in free but must sit in an adult's lap. Tickets are available for purchase only through PurplePass at this link above.
The UT Martin Spring College Rodeo features timed events and rough stock events such as bareback riding, calf roping, breakaway roping, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, goat tying, team roping, barrel racing and bull riding. The Skyhawk men's and women's teams clash against fellow Ozark Region NIRA members in one of the final regular season tune-ups before the 78th Annual College National Finals Rodeo, which is set for June 14-20 in Casper, Wyo.
Rodeo Week kicks off on Wednesday, April 8 as Wendell Alexander Realty, Top Tier Auctions and the Tennessee Department of Agriculture are sponsoring a shrimp and crawfish dinner at 5:30 p.m. Hamburgers and hot dogs are also available as the event is hosted by the UT Martin Rodeo Booster Club at the American Legion building in Martin. Admission is $25 per plate and $10 for those 10 years old or younger.

Tennessee Tractor, LLC is the sponsor for Friday's performance round as the top-10 finalists from each event advance to the Martin Paving Company Championship Finals on Saturday.
Award-winning public address announcer Garret Yerigan out of Pryor, Okla. and rodeo clown/funny man Dusty Myers from Jumpertown, Miss. each return to those roles to provide a festive atmosphere. Hampton Pro Rodeo, based out of Springdale, Ark., is once again the stock contractor for this year's event.
The UT Martin online silent auction features several different items as bidding runs through Saturday at 8 a.m. Proceeds go directly to the Skyhawk rodeo program for needs such as scholarships, facility upkeep, etc. A link to this year's silent auction can be found above.
For those who can't make the trip, a live video stream of each night's performance round is available for $10 per night at the ticket link above. Star 95.1 FM will broadcast each night of the rodeo live with David Brewer and Paul Tinkle on the radio call at the link above.
