
UT Martin Men’s Team Collects Second Win Of Young 2026-27 Season At Arkansas-Monticello

MONTICELLO, Ark. – For the second time in just three opportunities during the 2026-27 season, the University of Tennessee at Martin topped the men's standings as the Skyhawk cowboys won the Arkansas-Monticello rodeo this weekend.
UT Martin racked up 525 points to edge out Missouri Valley College's 495 points for the top spot. On the women's side, the Skyhawks claimed 10 points to finish in eighth place.
This result marks the first time that the UT Martin men's team has won multiple rodeos in the same season since the Skyhawks brought home two victories during the 2022-23 campaign.
In bareback riding, Spencer Mancini came away with sixth-place performances in both the first go (54) and in average (54).
A trio of UT Martin cowboys recorded points in calf roping, headed by Caleb Dunn's third-place finish in average (22.3) after he split third in the short round (10.8) and placed fifth in the opening go (11.5). In the first round, Bentley Anthony's 9.9 seconds led the field while Tate Williams followed closely behind with a second-place time of 10.5 seconds.
Lainey Hutchison secured points in breakaway roping, splitting sixth in the opening go with a time of 3.4 seconds.
Newcomer Caden Lowe carried on his red-hot start to the 2026-27 season as the Dalton, Ga. native won the saddle bronc riding event with a 138 average. That came after his 72 in the short round was the best in the field and he split first with a 66 in the opening go.
Two Skyhawk cowboys generated points in steer wrestling. Anthony's 4.2 in the short round was tops in the field while he also finished second in average (9.2) and sixth in the first go (5.0). Will Perry additionally earned points after his 4.3 in the short round placed second only to Anthony.
Anna Wilder finished sixth in the goat tying event as her second go time of 7.8 seconds was good enough to earn her points.
Anthony continued his remarkable all-around weekend by garnering points in team roping. The junior out of Hohenwald, Tenn. placed second in average (19.5), second in the short round (8.6) and fifth in the opening go alongside East Mississippi's Hayden Barnett. Also recording points for UT Martin was Griffin Coe, who joined forces with East Mississippi's Brock Johnson to finish third in the first round (8.6) and sixth in average (8.6).
The Skyhawks resume their busy start to the 2026-27 campaign next week as UT Martin heads to the first-ever collegiate rodeo hosted by Missouri State-West Plains on Thursday, Oct. 8 through Saturday, Oct. 10.
