Skyhawk Women’s Rodeo Squad Places Second At West Alabama

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The University of Tennessee at Martin rodeo season continued this weekend as the Skyhawk cowgirls finished second and the men's team came in fourth place at West Alabama.

The UT Martin women's squad tallied 220 points, which only trailed host West Alabama's 315 points in the standings. On the men's side, the Skyhawks' 280 points were only 10 points away of a third-place finish as host West Alabama (775) also brought home that crown.

Spencer Mancini earned points in bareback riding as the freshman out of Ballston Spa, NY split sixth with a 122 average.

Three separate UT Martin cowboys registered points in calf roping, led by Caleb Dunn winning the short go (10.4), placing second in average (21.9) and splitting third in the opening round (11.5). Griffin Coe also secured points in all three phases, placing third in average (22.3), third in the second round (10.8) and splitting third in the first go (11.5). Tate Williams was the third Skyhawk to dial up points in this event as his 12.5 in the short round was the fifth-best time and his 26.7 average ranked sixth.

Roany Clendenin continued her impressive start to the 2026-27 campaign as the freshman from Paris, Tenn. split second in average (5.7) after placing fourth in both the short round (3.2) and in the opening go (2.5) in breakaway roping. Rylee Wells also garnered points in that event as her 2.8 in the first round was good enough to split sixth.

In saddle bronc riding, Caden Lowe showed out for the second straight weekend as the Dalton, Ga. Native split first in the short round (69) while placing second in both average (136) and in the first go (67).

Will Perry managed points in steer wrestling as his time of 6.6 seconds in the opening round finished fourth on the leaderboard.

Bekah Legan accounted for early points in the goat tying event, splitting third following a time of 9.6 seconds in the first round.

In team roping, UT Martin cowboy Cooper Stone and East Mississippi's Dylan Delmas won the short go with a time of 7.9 seconds while also splitting third with a 25.6 average.

A pair of Skyhawk cowgirls piled up points in barrel racing. Auburn Royals finished third in both average (34.79) and in the second round (17.36) while Gracie Restuccio placed fifth in average (34.94), fifth in the short go (17.56) and split fifth in the opening round (17.38).

Both UT Martin teams are back at it next week as they head to Arkansas-Monticello for a rodeo that will run on Thursday, Oct. 1 through Saturday, Oct. 3.
