
Skyhawks Fall On The Road at 19th-Ranked Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss. – The University of Tennessee at Martin softball team fell, 12-0, in five innings to 19th-ranked Ole Miss Tuesday at the Ole Miss Softball Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi.
The Rebels proved why they are one of the best teams in the nation Tuesday, shutting out the Skyhawks and limiting them to just two hits in the game. Ole Miss pitchers Miali Guachino and Allison Cooper combined for the shutout in the game by allowing no runs on two hits with no walks and 10 strikeouts. Guachino gave up just one hit and struck out eight over the first 4.0 innings, while Cooper allowed one hit and struck out two in the final frame.
Carly Ward and Dylan Scott tallied the only hits for UT Martin in the game, while pinch-hitter Addie Robert reached base on an error.
The Skyhawks continue OVC play this weekend when they host Tennessee Tech for a single game Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and a doubleheader Sunday at Noon.
