The University of Tennessee at Martin softball team will cap off its five-game homestand with a matchup against Division II foe Christian Brothers on Wednesday, March 15. First pitch from Bettye Giles Field is scheduled for 3 p.m.
The Skyhawks (6-11) are looking to get back to their winning ways after suffering a sweep against Eastern Illinois in the team's Ohio Valley Conference opener last weekend. After entering the weekend with the league's top offense, the Skyhawks were held in check while dropping all three contests.

Defensively, the Skyhawks boast a .981 fielding percentage while the pitching staff had recorded a 4.05 ERA on the year.
Kaci Fuller leads the OVC and ranks second nationally with a .548 batting average while also leading the team with five doubles, two triples, six home runs and 21 RBIs on the campaign. Kallie Pickens posted a .333 batting average last week while tallying a double, two home runs and four RBIs. Martin native Anna Hazlewood also took quality at-bats during the home stand as she has posted a .600 batting average with three hits and five walks drawn.
Junior Brooklynn Linneman paces the Skyhawk pitching staff while recording a 2-3 record and 2.97 ERA in her debut season for the squad. She has held opponents to a .225 batting average in 33.0 innings of work.
Christian Brothers (6-15) recently snapped an 11-game losing streak and enters Wednesday's matchup fresh off a doubleheader sweet at Williams Baptist on Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Bucs are led offensively by Memory Willingham with a .359 batting average while adding two home runs and 10 RBIs along with Kate Candies adding a .342 average, seven doubles and 12 RBIs. In the pitching circle, Mackenzie Kliebert leads the team with a 2-3 record and 3.59 ERA.
Wednesday's contest marks the second meeting between the two programs with UT Martin posting an 8-0 victory against Christian Brothers back on March 1, 2017.
