MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin baseball is set to take on Atlantic Sun Conference opponent North Alabama in a neutral-site series.
Due to the threat of inclement weather in the Florence, Ala. area, the series has been moved to Rudy Abbott Field at Jim Case Stadium on the campus of Jacksonville State University. Weather concerns have also caused a shift in game times for the series as it will now open on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 5 p.m. followed by a doubleheader on Sunday, Feb. 24 beginning at noon.
UT Martin (1-2) is led by the tandem of Blake Daniels (.444 batting average and two RBIs) and Jordan Stoner (.273 batting average and three RBIs). Sean Dixson sports a .400 batting average while Tyson Cox and Billy Edwards both tout a .333 average. The Skyhawks have been active on the basepaths as they have swiped six bases on six attempts. Creighton Eldridge and Dixson pace the club in stolen bases with two apiece while Casey Harford and Stoner have each tallied one swipe.
On the mound, UT Martin will turn to right-handed pitcher Winston Cannon (0-1, 14.73 ERA and three strikeouts) for the Friday night start. Southpaw Sam Folks (0-0, 3.18 ERA and two strikeouts) looks to get the starting nod on Saturday while righty Austen Bullington (0-1, 8.31 ERA and three strikeouts) will start on Sunday. Out of the bullpen, Zach Denney (1-0, 0.00 ERA and two strikeouts) leads the pack as Jeff O'Doherty (0.00 ERA and five strkeouts), Seth Petry (0.00 ERA and one strikeout), David Hussey (0.00 ERA and five strikeouts) and Nick Wohlbold (0.00 ERA and one save) all look to add on to their contributions to the young campaign.
