UT MARTIN SOCCER PICKS UP 3-1 WIN OVER NORTH ALABAMA IN FINAL EXHIBITION MATCH

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team claimed a 3-1 victory over North Alabama in today's exhibition match – the final of the preseason slate.
UT Martin was led by senior Danae Kaldaridou as she found the back of the net once and also accounted for an assist in the bout. The Skyhawks also saw scoring from junior Nicole Collins and freshman Skylor Keane while Amy McGivern and Kamryn Chappell tallied assists, respectively.
Erica Myers started the match between the posts and racked up five saves while allowing the lone Lion goal in the first half. Makenzie Crawford played the second half of the match and tallied a save on the only shot that came near her.
The Lions would get on the board first but Keane answered less than two minutes later with a hot pass from McGivern to sneak the ball in for the game-tying goal. Collins put the game-winning goal into the back of the net in the 24th minute as she found a nifty pass from Kaldaridou. The final UT Martin goal came in the 82nd minute of the match as Kaldaridou took a Chappell pass from the left side to connect for the third Skyhawk goal of the day.
UT Martin opens the regular season on Thursday, Aug. 16 at 4 p.m. as the Skyhawks travel to Arkansas State to get the 2018 season underway.
