Skyhawk Golf To Proudly Host 23rd Annual Grover Page Classic In Jackson

MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin golf program hosts its first of three tournaments in 2026-27 when it puts on the Grover Page Classic at Jackson Country Club in Jackson, Tenn. on Monday, Sept. 14 through Tuesday, Sept. 15.
This year's Grover Page Classic is the 23rd edition of the tournament and marks the 16th time that the event has been held in nearby Jackson. The 2026 version of the tournament returns to the Jackson Country Club following a one-year absence as the course will now play at 7,020 yards after a full renovation in 2025.
The 2026 Grover Page Classic field includes Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Eastern Illinois, Indian Hills, Middle Tennessee (individuals only), Missouri State, Samford, SIUE, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern Indiana, Tennessee State and the Skyhawks. A total of 10 squads and 69 players will challenge for the team and individual championships as Round 1 and 2 will take place on Monday, followed by the final round on Tuesday. A shotgun start is set for 8:15 a.m. each day in the stroke-play event.
Monday's forecast calls for sunny skies with a high of 96 degrees and light to variable winds. Tuesday's weather conditions project to be a high of 99 degrees with southeast winds varying up to 5-10 miles per hour.
Nine UT Martin student-athletes will compete in the tournament as head coach Austin Swafford posted a lineup that includes Drew Williams at No. 1, Grant Phillips at No. 2, Lucas Herring at No. 3, Luke Beadles at No. 4 and Layton Richey at No. 5. Conner Hill, Bryce Harmon, Regan Kueker and Jaden Morrell will also take part in the event as individuals.
The reigning Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week, Williams is coming off a medalist victory (68.7 stroke average) at the Golfweek Fall Challenge held in Pawleys Island, SC. Phillips came away with a 73.0 scoring average while Herring (72.7) and Beadles (77.0) also made appearances in the Skyhawks' season-opening tournament. The Grover Page Classic will mark the collegiate debuts for Richey and Hill as well as the first action of the season for Harmon and Morrell. Kueker (77.0 stroke average) is slated to make his second appearance of 2026-27 as the freshman was a part of the scoring lineup at the Golfweek Fall Challenge.
