
Skyhawks Ready For Fourth Consecutive Postseason Appearance

MARTIN, Tenn.- The University of Tennessee at Martin baseball team makes its fourth straight appearance in the Ohio Valley Conference Baseball Championship when it plays Lindenwood on Tuesday, May 19 at 3 p.m.

This marks the eighth time the Skyhawks (26-28, 11-15 OVC) have played in the conference tournament (1996, 2011, 2017, 2019, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026) while they've also extended their program-best NCAA Division I postseason streak.

The UT Martin offense has rewritten the record books this season by setting new school records in runs scored (425), hits (599), doubles (133), RBIs (383), stolen bases (144) and runs per game (DI era, 7.9). The Skyhawks also set a new program best in wins in a single season in the Division I era.

TJ Grines has spearheaded the UT Martin attack with his monumental year. The senior leads the country in stolen bases (65, most in a single season in OVC history) while also ranking second in hits (92) and sixth in runs scored (74). TJ Dunsford has delivered a team-best 62 RBIs (third in OVC in RBIs) which ranks as second most in a single season in school history. Colten Payton has notched 73 hits (seventh in OVC) with 57 RBIs (sixth in OVC) and 20 multi-hit contests. Garner Anderson has enjoyed a breakout season with career-highs in  OPS (1.011 OPS) and slugging percentage (.572).

On the mound, Cason Sharp has posted four quality starts including a nine-inning complete game against Little Rock (May 9) which only took him 89 pitches. Two-time OVC Pitcher of the Week Jacob Sitton boasts his own nine-inning complete game which he recorded at Southern Indiana (April 17). Sitton also ranks sixth in the league in strikeouts with 67. In the bullpen, Gabe Bryant has made a team-best 14 appearances while Mason Little leads the team in saves (four).
