
Southworth Wins Calf Roping Event As UT Martin Concludes Regular Season At Northwest Mississippi

SENATOBIA, Miss. – The 2025-26 University of Tennessee at Martin rodeo regular season finished up this weekend as the Skyhawk cowboys and cowgirls competed at Northwest Mississippi.
The UT Martin men's team registered 320 points to rank fourth in the standings while the Skyhawk women's squad posted 80 points, which ranked sixth in the field.
Clint Southworth capped off his phenomenal regular season with another dominant effort in calf roping. The graduate from Bagdad, Ky. won in average (19.1) and in the short go (9.3) after splitting second in the opening round (9.8).
A pair of UT Martin cowgirls accumulated points in breakaway roping, headed by Drew Thomas. She won the long round (2.6) before placing second in both averaged (5.7) and in the second go (3.1). Anna Wilder also performed well in this event, placing third in both the average (6.7) and in the short round (3.6).
Bentley Anthony secured points in all three phases of steer wrestling, placing second in average (10.4), third in the short go (5.2) and fourth in the opening round (5.2).
Three Skyhawk representatives came away with points in team roping, led by Anthony and Jace Stigall. That duo finished sixth in both average (24.2) and in the second round (16.5). Caden Ussery teamed up with Southern Arkansas' Dakota Benight to split fifth in the opening go after a time of 7.5 seconds.
In barrel racing, Gracie Restuccio tallied points after each of the three stages as she placed third in the first round (13.96), split fourth in the average (27.97) and finished fifth in the short go (14.01).
The 78th Annual College National Finals Rodeo will take place in Casper, Wyo. on Sunday, June 14 through Saturday, June 20 as the full field of participants will be announced at a later date.
