Harris’ Perfect Week Leads To Second OVC Pitcher of the Week Accolade

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – For the second time this season, Payton Harris of the University of Tennessee at Martin softball team has been named as the Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week, the organization announced Monday.
Harris was clutch in relief all week for the Skyhawks, delivering two wins and not allowing any runs, earned or otherwise, for a 0.00 ERA, over 9.2 innings of work. She gave up just four hits on the week with two strikeouts and two walks to finish with a WHIP of 0.62, an opponent's batting average of .129 and two combined shutouts.
In game one against Western Illinois, she pitched 4.2 innings and gave up no runs on two hits, while holding the Leathernecks hitless and scoreless with one strikeout in game three over the final 3.0 innings.
On the season, Harris is 4-3 with a 4.04 ERA, a 1.50 WHIP, 19 strikeouts and a .232 opponent's batting average, the second lowest on the team.
On Tuesday, Harris and the Skyhawks travel to the Henderson County Sports Complex in Lexington, Tennessee to face Austin Peay at 5:30 p.m.
