
Makarewicz Named Player of the Week For Second Time

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – For the second time this season, Avary Makarewicz of the University of Tennessee at Martin softball team has been named as the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week, the organization announced Monday.
Makarewicz hit .385 on the week for the Skyhawks with four runs, three RBIs and a home run across a doubleheader with Ole Miss and an OVC-opening three-game series against Lindenwood. In game one against Ole Miss, the senior was 3-for-3 and had her sole home run of the week
She finished the week with a team-high on-base percentage of .579, thanks to drawing six walks, including three in game one against Lindenwood. She finished the week with an OPS of 1.194 and a slugging percentage of .615.
Next up for Makarewicz and the Skyhawks is a trip to another SEC foe, Missouri, on Wednesday. The first pitch at Mizzou Softball Stadium is set for 3:30 p.m., and the game will be broadcast live on SEC Network+.
