- The University of Tennessee at Martin women's basketball team (13-16) dropped the final game of the 2025-26 regular season, 67-60, to Tennessee State Saturday at the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center in Martin. The Skyhawks were cruising through the first half, shooting 52.9-percent from the floor and leading by five at the break, 34-29. However, in the third, the Lady Tigers went on a 21-0 run and outscored the Skyhawks, 21-8, in the quarter. In the fourth, UT Martin trimmed a 10-point Tennessee State lead to just two with 1:16 to play on a 3-pointer from Brittani Wells. Despite the rally, the Skyhawks were outscored 5- over the final 35 seconds, to give the Tigers the win. Kenley McCarn led UT Martin in the game with 19 points and eight rebounds, while going 8-for-9 at the free throw line.
 - Kenley McCarn currently leads the Skyhawks with 16.0 points per game, while Zy Thompson and Sidni Middleton follow at 10.9 and 9.1, respectively. On the boards, Thompson leads UT Martin with 6.0 rebounds per game, while Brittani Wells leads in assists and steals, at 3.7 and 1.9, respectively. As a team, the Skyhawks average 63.2 points and 33.8 rebounds per game, while their opponents average 63.0 and 38.7. The Skyhawks and Cougars have met in the OVC tournament on two previous occasions. In 2018, second-seeded UT Martin beat third-seeded SIUE and in 2022 the seventh-seeded Cougars topped the sixth-seeded Skyhawks.
 - For the 17th consecutive year, UT Martin will compete in the OVC Women's Basketball Championship. Head coach Kevin McMillan has now led his squad to the tournament in each of his 17 seasons at the helm. He boasts an impressive 23-11 (.676) record at the event and has led his team to 10 title games and four tournament championships.
 - The Skyhawks have made a 3-point field goal in 542 consecutive games, a streak dating back to Feb. 3, 2009 against Austin Peay and ranking seventh, nationally.
 - On Tuesday, Kenley McCarn was named as an All-Ohio Valley Conference selection for the third time in her career. She was named to the first team this season and in 2023-24 and was named to the second team in 2024-25.
 - Under the tutelage of McMillian, 22 different student-athletes have received 60 OVC accolades, including six Players of the Year, four Defensive Players of the Year, four Freshmen of the Year, 21 All-OVC first team selections, 10 players named to the All-OVC second team and 15 players earning OVC All-Newcomer honors

McCarn is also 111th in points per game (16.0), which also ranks fourth in the OVC, while Brittani Wells averages 3.7 assists per game, which is 172nd in the nation and fourth in the league.
 - When the calendar flips to the new year head coach Kevin McMillan excels, as he is currently 217-105 (.674) in January, February and March over the course of his career. February has been by far the best month of his head coaching career. He is currently 103-35 (.746) during the month. This past January was also kind to McMillan as he went 6-3, his best record in the month since 2020-21 when he went 7-1.
 - Skyhawk guard Kenley McCarn has started her career on the right foot by scoring double figures in 83 of her 96 career games. Last season, she became just the 19th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points and currently averages 15.5 points per game for her career. With 13 points at Morehead State, she officially became one of the Top 10 scorers in UT Martin history. She currently ranks 7th in program history with 1,487 career points, last passing the great Pat Head Summitt. In the regular-season finale, she scored 19 points to become just the seventh Skyhawk in program history to eclipse the 1,500-point mark.
