MARTIN, Tenn. - University of Tennessee at Martin head women's basketball coach Kevin McMillan announced the signing of four additional student-athletes Thursday who will become Skyhawks for the 2026-27 season.
The four signees Thursday brings the total of new Skyhawks for the 2026-27 season to 13. McMillan signed five incoming freshmen, Lily Espelet, Na'Kayjah Holman, Sadie Meyer, Olivia Smith and Curnesha Taylor, in November and added four transfers, Chloe Chard Peloquin, Sophie Chard Peloquin, Tyler Jones and Alorian Story, earlier this month.
Read below for more on each new signee.
Milica Lazarevic • 6-1 • G • So. • Belgrade, Serbia (Eastern Florida State College)
Lazarevic had a big freshman season at Eastern Florida, leading the Titans in both points and rebounds per game at 16.0 and 6.0, respectively. She finished the season with a 42.3 field goal percentage, 37.3 3-point percentage and a 74.7 free throw percentage. In high school, she helped lead Greenforest Christian Academy to the 2023-24 GHSA Class A Division 2 state title and led the Eagles in the championship game with 11 points. Lazarevic followed her junior season up with an All-State campaign as a senior in 2024-25.
McMillan on Lazarevic: "Mimi is a natural scorer who finds ways to produce at all three levels. She has a deep shooting range, is crafty in the paint, and uses her 6-1 frame to create mismatches. Her ability to play and defend multiple positions, one through four, combined with her high basketball IQ and toughness, makes her a consistent threat."
Angela Mirkovic • 6-3 • F • So. • Belgrade, Serbia (Eastern Florida State College)
Mirkovic was a standout at Eastern Florida last season, averaging 9.5 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. She led the team in 3-point shooting on the year, shooting 39.6-percent overall and 40.0-percent in conference play. She also shot 48.0-percent from the floor and 72.7-percent at the free throw line for the Titans last season. She was also a key component of Greenforest Christian Academy's run to the 2023-24 GHSA Class A Division 2 state title. In 2024-25, as a senior, Mirkovic was named to the All-Region team.
McMillan on Mirkovic: "Angela is a 6-3 versatile forward who stretches the floor with elite 3-point shooting, at around 40-percent. She impacts the game on both ends with her length, rebounding, and defensive presence. Angela competes at a high level, embraces challenges, and brings a team-first mentality with her unselfish play."
Madeline Penney • 5-9 • G • R-Jr. • Tallahassee, Fla. (Tallahassee State College)
Despite injuries in her first two seasons at Tallahassee, Penney had an outstanding redshirt sophomore campaign in which she played in 27 games for the Eagles with 19 starts, averaging 18.3 minutes per game. In the 2025-26 season, she averaged 10.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game and shot 40.7-percent from the floor and 38.7-percent from 3-point range. In her prep career at Leon High School, she was a two-time All-Big Bend Conference selection.
McMillan on Penney: "Maddie is a tough, hard-nosed competitor and an elite shooter. At 5-11, she scores off screens, in transition, and off the dribble. She rebounds extremely well for her position, uses her strength and versatility to defend multiple spots and her work ethic aligns well with our program's standards."
Raven Sims • 5-9 • G • R-Jr. • Memphis, Tenn. (Niagara)
Sims comes to UT Martin after sitting out last season at Niagara. Before her year with the Purple Eagles, she spent two seasons at Memphis, playing in 57 games with three starts. Out of high school, she was a decorated prep star at Tipton-Rosemark Academy and Bartlett, where she earned three All-Tennessee accolades. During her senior season, she was ranked as the ninth-best player in Tennessee, after leading the city in scoring during her junior campaign.
McMillan on Sims: "Raven is a 5-9 dynamic athlete with the ability to play multiple guard positions. She excels at attacking the rim and finishing through contact against bigger defenders. Defensively, she disrupts with her quickness and energy, and her experience will allow her to step into a leadership role early."
