Gelinas Earns Second Consecutive OVC Honor

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Graduate Parker Gelinas of the University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team earned her second consecutive Ohio Valley Conference Defender of the Week honor for her play during the third week of the season, the league announced Tuesday.
Gelinas played on a back line that allowed just one goal per match at Ole Miss and at home against Illinois State. Through five games this season, the UT Martin defense has allowed only three goals. The graduate played all 180 minutes for the Skyhawks last week and added a shot against Illinois State. The award is the fourth of her career for Gelinas and she has now won the award in two of three weeks this season.
The Skyhawks return to Skyhawk Soccer Field Thursday to take on former OVC rival Murray State at 7 p.m.
