Gelinas, Cook Garner Preseason OVC Honors

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Parker Gelinas and Peyton Cook of the University of Tennessee at Martin Soccer team both earned preseason honors, as announced by the Ohio Valley Conference on Thursday. Gelinas was honored as a returning All-OVC player, while Cook was named to the Players to Watch list.

Gelinas was the iron woman for the Skyhawks last year, playing every minute of all 18 matches. She helped the defense produce three shutouts on the season and won two OVC Defender of the Week accolades.

Despite scoring just one goal last season, Cook was second on the team in total shots with 47. She also led the team in shots on goal with 28, which also allowed her to lead the team in shots on goal percentage at 59.6-percent.

The 2025 Skyhawks will have one final dress rehearsal before opening the season when they host the Blue and Orange Exhibition Saturday at Skyhawk Soccer Field at 7 p.m. UT Martin opens the 2025 season August 14 at 20^th-ranked Mississippi State.
