Gelinas and Titus Win OVC Weekly Awards

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Graduate Parker Gelinas and redshirt senior Mac Titus were named as Defender and Goalkeeper of the week, respectively, by the Ohio Valley Conference for their play during the second week of the season, the league announced Tuesday.
Gelinas played on a back line that allowed no goals over two matches, resulting in two consecutive shutouts. Along with the UTM defense, the Skyhawks allowed just 10 shots on goal on the week, with six against North Alabama and four against Austin Peay.
Titus played the full 180 minutes over two matches and came up with two clean sheets. She faced 10 shots on the week and saved all 10, with six against North Alabama and four against Austin Peay.
The awards mark the third of their career for both Gelinas and Titus. After two draws last week, UT Martin remains unbeaten at 0-0-3, but is still looking for its first win of the season.
The Skyhawks hit the road for the first time in three matches Thursday when they travel to Ole Miss. Kickoff in Oxford is scheduled for 6 p.m.
