Skyhawks End Season at OVC Championship

PEORIA, Ill. – The University of Tennessee at Martin softball team ended its 2025 campaign with a 5-0 loss to Lindenwood in the first round of the Ohio Valley Conference Championship Wednesday afternoon at the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex in Peoria, Illinois.
Lindenwood's Avery Wapp threw a complete game one-hitter Wednesday, stifling any offense the Skyhawks could muster. UT Martin did have three additional baserunners in the contest, via a walk and two errors, but could not plate any of them, resulting in the shutout loss.
Avaray Makarewicz had the lone hit for the Skyhawks in the game, while Kyla Harley drew the only walk. The UT Martin pitching staff combined to allow four earned runs on 11 hits on the day, with four strikeouts and three walks.
The Skyhawks end the 2025 season at 16-31 overall and 8-17 in conference play. UT Martin will lose just one senior to graduation: All-OVC second-team selection Alli Robinson.
