Skyhawks Open Six-Match Homestand Tomorrow With Double Dual Against North Alabama

MARTIN, Tenn. – The 2025 home opener for the University of Tennessee at Martin beach volleyball squad will take place tomorrow as the Skyhawks kick off a lengthy homestand against North Alabama. UT Martin will square off against the Lions for a double dual with matches set to begin at noon and 2 p.m. at the Skyhawk Beach Volleyball Complex.
After a dozen games at road or neutral sites to start the 2025 campaign, UT Martin will play in front of its home crowd for the first time since April 20, 2024. The Skyhawks have won their last 13 home decisions, having not lost while playing on the UT Martin campus since April 12, 2022.
The Skyhawks (7-5) have won five of their last seven matches with both setbacks coming by slim 3-2 margins. UT Martin went 3-1 last weekend at the Sugar Beach Bash hosted by Southeastern Louisiana, wrapping up the tournament on a three-match winning streak.
The hottest pair on the Skyhawk roster has been Sydney Eckhardt and Reagan McGee, who have gone 7-0 since teaming up at No. 4. Eckhardt also leads the team in solo victories (nine) this spring.
Kayla Bryant and Olivia O'Keefe were named Ohio Valley Conference Pair of the Week on March 5 and boast the most wins of any UT Martin pair in 2025. Those two have teamed up to go 8-4 out of the No. 3 position in the lineup.
Additionally earning a winning record so far this season is Ryan Rednour and Kylie Surratt, who have gone 4-3 in the No. 5 slot.
Each of the Skyhawks' pairings atop the lineup sheet enter this week on a two-match winning streak as Dylan Mott/Jenna Vallée (No. 1) and Riley Rushing/Dylan Sulcer (No. 2) were key factors in UT Martin's wins over Southeastern Louisiana and New Orleans last weekend.
