MARTIN, Tenn. – Four of the five matches today went into tiebreaking third sets at the Ohio Valley Conference Beach Volleyball Championship as the University of Tennessee at Martin put up a fight before falling 3-1 to Lindenwood.
Appearing on the final day of the OVC Championship tournament for the sixth time in as many years, the Skyhawks conclude the 2026 campaign with a 17-9 overall record under ninth-year head coach Jaclynn Wilson.
UT Martin struck first, getting on the scoreboard with a 21-19, 21-18 victory at No. 5 thanks to Abby Freund/Kristin Phillips. The remaining four matchups were all tight throughout as Andie Kryak/Amara Traiger were narrowly outlasted 22-20, 20-22, 15-13 at No. 4.
The Skyhawks won the opening set in all three matches in the second wave but the Lions (19-8) managed comebacks on two of those courts. Kayla Bryant/Riley Rushing barely fell 16-21, 21-13, 15-13 at No. 1 before Luli Arcucci/Lauren Mariscal dropped a slim 18-21, 21-19, 15-11 decision at No. 3.
UT Martin's Reagan McGee/Dylan Sulcer held a 22-20, 13-21, 7-4 advantage at No. 2 but the match was clinched before their truncated result.
Following the conclusion of the OVC Championship event, McGee and Sulcer were named to the five-pair All-Tournament team. The Skyhawks' No. 2 duo went 2-0 in the tournament and were leading in their three other appearances before the matches were clinched.
