
UT Martin Runs Winning Streak To Three In Sugar Beach Bash Finale

YOUNGSVILLE, La. – The University of Tennessee at Martin beach volleyball team claimed the first four points of a dominant victory over New Orleans, picking up its third win in a 24-hour span to close out the Sugar Beach Bash.
Riley Rushing and Dylan Sulcer got things started for the Skyhawks (7-5), teaming up for a 21-8, 21-17 victory at No. 2. Sydney Eckhardt and Reagan McGee improved to 7-0 overall on the season after posting a 21-11, 24-22 triumph at No. 4.
Moments later, UT Martin's No. 3 tandem of Kayla Bryant/Olivia O'Keefe pieced together their third clinching point of the weekend, drumming up a 21-19, 21-12 victory for their team-high eighth win of the spring.
The No. 1 Skyhawk duo of Dylan Mott/Jenna Vallée moved to 3-1 on the weekend after a 24-22, 21-10 victory to give UT Martin its fourth straight win of the match. The Skyhawks were close to a sweep but its No. 5 tandem of Ryan Rednour/Kylie Surratt fell in a close battle (23-21, 21-16).
UT Martin now returns for a season-long six-match homestand, starting with a double dual against North Alabama on Wednesday, March 19. The matches are set to start at 12 and 2 p.m. at the Skyhawk Beach Volleyball Complex.
