
Skyhawks Fall In First Of Two Weekend Meets In Delaware

DOVER, Del. – The University of Tennessee at Martin equestrian team battled but fell by a 10-4 margin in a neutral-site matchup against No. 10 UC Davis today.
The Skyhawks accounted for two victories in reining, one win and one tie in fences, one triumph in flat and one knotted score in horsemanship.
UT Martin split the four reining points as Abby Tibbits (71 points) and Elise Mason (65.5) each claimed head-to-head victories. It marked the team-best fourth win of the season (and fourth in as many meets) for Tibbits and the third triumph for Mason in 2025-26. Claire Carpenter and Payton Bundy also made up the Skyhawk reining lineup with scores of 68.5 and 66 points, respectively.
Kate Mills' score of 79 in fences was good enough for a nine-point margin of victory as the junior out of Charlotte, NC won her team-high fourth decision of the season. Averey Pritchard's 74 points were a draw against her head-to-head opponent as she improved to 3-1-1 on the season. UT Martin's lineup was completed by Audrey Morris (75 points) and Kathleen DeGenova (66).
DeGenova earned her second victory of the season in flat, securing a score of 69 to best her competitor by six points. Mills was responsible for a team-best 77 points and was followed by 69 points out of Shelby Davis and 68 points from Lydia Jordan in the event.
In horsemanship, Kailyn Veale came away with a tie after she delivered a 75-point ride. Olivia Wynn followed right behind with 74 points of her own while Ruby Gunderson (72.5) and Ava Newsom (70) completed the Skyhawk horsemanship lineup.
UT Martin closes out is fall schedule tomorrow, facing Eastern College Athletic Conference rival Delaware State in a true road test at 8 a.m. CT.
