MARTIN, Tenn. – The first of three straight home games for the University of Tennessee at Martin men's basketball squad will take place tomorrow against Brescia at the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center. Tipoff time is scheduled for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
This game wraps up a busy recent schedule as this will be the Skyhawks' third game in four days and fourth contest in an eight-day span. This also marks just the second home game of the season for UT Martin as it last played in front of the home crowd on Nov. 9 - a 97-42 victory over Kentucky Christian.
The Skyhawks (4-2) are coming off a runner-up finish at the Pensacola Invitational over the weekend. UT Martin defeated Prairie View A&M by a 69-68 margin on Saturday to advance to Sunday's championship game, battling but falling 70-60 to Southern Miss. Following the event, Matas Deniusas (12.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game) and Dragos Lungu (11.0 points on 69.2 percent shooting) were recognized on the nine-man All-Tournament team.
In addition to that pair, Andrija Bukumirović (14 points, 12 rebounds against Prairie View A&M), Filip Petkovski (10 points against Prairie View A&M) and Damien King (team-best 11 points against Southern Miss) performed well for the Skyhawks at the inaugural multi-team event.
UT Martin has relied on a staunch defense so far this season, holding the opposition to just 27.6 percent (37-for-134) shooting from three-point land while outrebounding its competitors by nearly six boards (38.0 to 32.3) per outing.
A NAIA institution out of Owensboro, Ky., Brescia (0-7) is in search of its first win of the young 2025-26 season. The Bearcats feature the high-scoring duo of Jaunte Jenkins (17.1 points per outing) and Linkin Lockhart (15.3 points per contest). In Brescia's last game - a narrow 74-71 home setback to Cumberland last Tuesday - Izzy Momodu led the way with team-highs of 14 points and seven rebounds.
