Skyhawks Complete First Two Rounds At The Scrappy At Cobblestone

ACWORTH, Ga. – University of Tennessee at Martin representatives Drew Williams and Bryce Harmon each rank 10th in the field of 63 golfers following 36 holes at The Scrappy At Cobblestone, hosted by Kennesaw State.
Williams and Harmon each posted a 145 (+3) through the first two rounds today. Williams accounted for the best score in the Skyhawk scoring lineup in both rounds, carding an even-par 71 (three birdies) this morning before a 74 (two birdies) in the afternoon. The sophomore from Greensboro, Ga. – 110 miles away from the Cobblestone Golf Course – ranks fifth in the field in par-4 scoring (4.06, +1) and 11th in pars (23). Competing as an individual, Harmon sank five birdies on the way to a 72 in Round 1 before tallying four red scores as part of a 73 in Round 2. The freshman out of Knoxville, Tenn. leads the entire tournament in par-3 scoring (2.80, -2) while ranking second in birdies (nine).
Grant Phillips (73, four birdies), Luke Caldwell (76, one birdie) and John-Gregory Wilson (79, one birdie) joined Williams with countable scores in Round 1 as UT Martin shot a 299 (+15).
Phillips equaled Williams for a team-best 74 (two birdies) in Round 2 and was followed by countable scores out of Caldwell (75, two birdies) and Wilson (77, one birdie). Collectively, the Skyhawks shot a 300 (+16) during the afternoon session.
Overall, Phillips managed a 147 (+5) and was followed by Caldwell (151, +9), Wilson (156, +14) and Luke Beadles (80-84, 164; +22). The duo of Caldwell and Phillips led UT Martin in par-5 scoring today with identical 5.00 (E) averages.
As a team, the Skyhawks rank ninth in the field with a two-round tally of 599 (+31) heading into tomorrow's third and final round. UT Martin's scoring lineup will tee off from 7:00-7:36 a.m. CT in nine-minute intervals off Hole No. 10 alongside Morehead State and West Georgia. Harmon will tee off Hole No. 10 at 8:30 a.m. CT in a group that includes individuals from Georgia State and West Georgia.
