MARTIN, Tenn. – Junior Kennedy Brown of the University of Tennessee at Martin Softball Team has been named as a 2025 Ohio Valley Conference Player to Watch, the league announced Thursday afternoon.
"Kennedy is a silent competitor who has been working hard since last season to up her game," said head coach Chelsea Farmer. "With several clutch moments under her belt from last season and more experience going into this year, I am excited to see what she produces!"
Brown, an infielder, appeared in 46 games for the Skyhawks last season with 44 starts. She batted .224 with 15 runs, a double, two triples and eight RBIs. She also drew 13 walks and was a perfect 10-for-10 on stolen base attempts.
At third base, she posted a .940 fielding percentage by committing just seven errors on 116 chances with 29 putouts and 80 assists, while also helping turn a double play.
Brown and the rest of the Skyhawks will kick off their 2025 season Feb. 7-9 in Greenville, South Carolina at the 2025 Paladin Invitational hosted by Furman. While in The Palmetto State, UT Martin will take on South Carolina State, Evansville, Stonehill and the host Paladins.
