
Skyhawk Soccer Releases Schedule

MARTIN, Tenn.- University of Tennessee at Martin soccer head coach Mike Varga has released the 2024 schedule, featuring seven home matches and high profile road trips to Atlantic Coast Conference foe Louisville and Memphis (Sweet 16 appearance in 2023 NCAA Tournament).

Varga enters his second season at the helm and looks to build upon last year where UT Martin produced returning All-OVC first teamers Izzy Patterson and Makayla Robinson as well as OVC All-Newcomer Peyton Cook.

Before the season officially starts, the Skyhawks will be on the road for two exhibition contests at Purdue (Aug. 6) and Arkansas State (Aug. 9). UT Martin's season opener takes place on Aug. 15 in Florence, Ala. against Atlantic Sun Conference member North Alabama, followed by the home opener on Aug. 18 when Southern Illinois comes to Skyhawk Field.

UT Martin will jump back on the road to face Austin Peay (Aug. 25) then return home for a date with Missouri Valley Conference member Indiana State (Aug. 29). It'll be back-to-back road trips after that with bus rides to Murray State on Sept. 1 and Louisville on Sept. 5.

After a matchup with the Cardinals, the Skyhawks have a home contest against Northern Iowa (Sept. 8) before a four-match road stretch that starts with Evansville (Sept. 12) and Memphis (Sept. 15). Ohio Valley Conference play kicks off on Sept. 22 at SIUE before the lengthy road trip concludes at Southern Indiana on Sept. 26.

With two conference matches under its belt, UT Martin will host Tennessee Tech (Sept. 29) and then head to Arkansas's state capital for a rematch of the first round of the OVC Soccer Championships with Little Rock (Oct. 3).

The next two league bouts will take place at Skyhawk Field against Morehead State on Oct. 6 and Lindenwood on Oct. 13. After that, UT Martin makes its way through the Land of Lincoln with stops at Western Illinois (Oct. 17) and Eastern Illinois (Oct. 20).

The regular season finale and Senior Day is scheduled for Oct. 27 against Southeast Missouri. Following the conclusion of the regular season, the OVC Soccer Championships are set to take place on campus sites. The first two rounds will take place on Oct. 31 and Nov. 3 while the semifinal and championship rounds are set for Nov. 7 and Nov. 10.
