UT MARTIN SOFTBALL SERIES AGAINST SEMO IS WASHED OUT; WILL NOT BE RESCHEDULED

MARTIN, Tenn. – Following consistent precipitation falling in the region for much of the past 24 hours, today's Ohio Valley Conference softball series between the University of Tennessee at Martin and Southeast Missouri has been canceled.
The two teams were originally slated to play a doubleheader this afternoon before the schedule was altered to a single matchup this evening to try and salvage at least a part of the home series. Additional rainfall throughout the morning hours and this afternoon however made the playing surface at Bettye Giles Field unplayable forcing the cancelation of the midweek series.
UT Martin and Southeast Missouri will still square off later this year for a two-game series in Cape Girardeau, Mo. on Wednesday, Apr. 27.
The Skyhawks now shift their focus to a three-game league series at Morehead State this weekend. The two teams are tentatively scheduled to play a doubleheader on Saturday, Apr. 9 before completing the series on Sunday, Apr. 10.
