NO. 10 UT MARTIN EQUESTRIAN HOSTS A PAIR OF OPPONENTS THIS WEEKEND; SENIOR DAY SET FOR SATURDAY

MARTIN, Tenn. – The 2021-22 University of Tennessee at Martin equestrian regular season wraps up this weekend as the Skyhawks host South Dakota State on Friday, March 11 before taking on Minnesota-Crookston on Saturday, March 12. Friday's meet will begin at 9 a.m. while Saturday's matchup will begin at approximately 12:30 p.m.
Six UT Martin riders will be recognized following the conclusion of Saturday's matchup against Minnesota-Crookston as part of Senior Day festivities. Natalie Armstrong, Brooke Bradley, Shelby Jackson, Kelby Kane, Kyra Petty and Katelyn Schultz will be honored for their career contributions.
A Menomonee Falls, Wis. native, Armstrong has been a member of the Skyhawk program since 2018. She has made three career starts in reining, tallying a career-high 66.5 points at No. 6 Georgia on Feb. 29, 2020. She also has garnered four career wins in exhibition meets, including a horsemanship MOP against Miami (Ohio) on Oct. 4, 2019. Last season, she earned NCEA All-Academic honor roll and OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll accolades.
Bradley has cracked UT Martin's reining starting lineup on 20 different occasions over her four-year career. All six of her career victories have come against ranked opponents, including a career-best 73.5-point performance against No. 3 SMU on Oct. 2, 2021. The Plain City, Ohio native has also stood out academically, receiving Athletic Director's Honor Roll accolades in each of the past two spring semesters.
Hailing from Marcellus, Mich., Jackson has made all three of her career starts in reining this season. She dialed up her first career victory during her official collegiate debut against Texas A&M on Nov. 12 and was responsible for a career-high 68.5 points against No. 7 Delaware State on Jan. 28. She has compiled two OVC Commissioner's honor Roll appearances and one NCEA All-Academic honor roll nod during her four-year career.
Kane will go down as one of the Skyhawks' all-time greats, accounting for 39 career victories and 12 MOP's over three seasons in the Jumping Seat discipline. She has accrued 20 wins (half of which have occurred in 2021-22) and five MOP's in fences to go along with 19 triumphs and seven MOP accolades in flat. Her career-high scores came against No. 3 SMU on Oct. 2, 2021 as she registered 88 points in both events. The Lexington, Ky. native earned conference Freshman of the Year honors and all-conference accolades in 2018-19 and has been named to the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll twice.
Petty graduated from UT Martin with a degree in family and consumer sciences in December and is currently employed by the University of Tennessee Extension Institute of Agriculture. Hailing from Cleveland, Tenn., Petty competed in a pair of exhibitions during her four-year career – picking up a horsemanship victory against Mississippi State as a freshman. She is a three-time OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient and was additionally named to the NCEA All-Academic honor roll twice.
A West Bend, Wis. native, Schultz has made 13 starts in four seasons as a Skyhawk – including all 11 meets in horsemanship this season. She has accumulated three victories and accounted for a career-best 74 points on two separate occasions (at No. 6 Georgia on March 5, at No. 10 TCU on Jan. 29). Outside of the arena, she has notched three OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll awards and twice been named to the NCEA's All-Academic honor roll.
