
KACI FULLER NAMED OVC SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – University of Tennessee at Martin softball freshman Kaci Fuller has been named Ohio Valley Conference Softball Player of the Week after an impressive debut weekend.
A native of Huntingdon, Tenn., Fuller helped the Skyhawks to a perfect 4-0 weekend on the opening weekend of the season at the Black and Gold Tournament. On the week, Fuller posted a .667 batting average with five runs scored, a double, two triples and eight RBIs while stealing four bases. She also posted a .688 on-base percentage while slugging 1.000 for the weekend.
Fuller's big debut weekend led the OVC in both hits (10) and RBIs (eight) while her four stolen bases ranked second.
In her debut, she went 2-for-3 against Evansville with a triple and four RBIs. In the second game of the day against Alabama A&M she went 1-for-4 but tallied her second triple on the weekend while driving in two runs. On the final day of the tournament she went 4-for-5 with a double and three runs scored against Alabama A&M before closing out the weekend by going 3-for-3 while drawing one walk, driving in two RBIs and swiping a pair of bags.
UT Martin will return to action with a mid-week contest at Chattanooga on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. CST. The Skyhawks will then participate in the Tennessee Invitational running Feb. 25-27 in Knoxville.
