UT MARTIN SOFTBALL OPENS DUNN ERA WITH THE START OF OFFICIAL PRACTICE

MARTIN, Tenn. – Today marked not only the first day of the spring semester for the University of Tennessee at Martin, but also the first day of practice for the Skyhawk softball program leading up to the 2020 campaign.
Excitement is in the air as the Skyhawks open their first preseason with first-year head coach Brian Dunn at the helm. The Skyhawks feature a young squad with a mix of veterans sprinkled into a team which finished last season 29-27 and 10-12 in the Ohio Valley Conference.
The Skyhawks return 12 players from last year's squad while adding eight newcomers and one former player to the team. The squad will be led by the senior duo of Aalia Bivens and Hannah Ridolfi along with All-OVC and NFCA All-Region performer Paige Clark. Clark returns for her junior campaign after ranking amongst OVC leaders with a .383 batting average, 35 runs scored, 62 hits, 24 RBIs and 34 stolen bases as a sophomore.
UT Martin will spend the next 28 days preparing for the season opener at the Southeastern Louisiana Lion Classic which runs Feb. 7-9 in Hammond, La.
