ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The University of Tennessee at Martin beach volleyball team concluded its tour through the state of Florida today as it fell 5-0 to both Arizona State and Florida Gulf Coast at the Battle on the Bay tournament.

In the morning match against Arizona State, the Skyhawks' No. 5 pairing of Addison Conley and Logan Wallick put up quite a battle before coming up short, 21-15, 22-20. Brooke Gyori and Hannah Phillips competed at No. 1, falling 21-18, 21-14 while Kenzie Hinshaw/Karen Scanlon were slotted at No. 2 and were defeated 21-13, 21-10.

At No. 4, Lindsey Geurin and Jessica Reynolds fell by a 21-6, 21-7 margin while Megan Fair and Justine Walker were defeated 21-2, 21-2 at No. 3.

A few hours later, UT Martin's best effort came at No. 1 where Gyori/Phillips fell by a 21-14, 21-18 margin. Conley and Wallick (lost 21-11, 21-13) represented the Skyhawks at No. 5 while Fair and Walker were defeated by a 21-12, 21-11 margin at No. 3.

Hinshaw and Scanlon were matched up at No. 2 but dropped a 21-14, 21-8 decision. At No. 4, Geurin and Reynolds fell 21-8, 21-9.

UT Martin's next outing will be on Wednesday, March 13 when the Skyhawks will host home beach volleyball matches for the first time in school history. UT Martin will host Southern Miss for a double dual at 1 and 3 p.m. at the newly built beach volleyball facility located near the Skyhawk Tennis Complex off Pat Head Summitt Drive.
