CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – University of Tennessee at Martin soccer trio of Maria Castaldo, Bella Roberts and Elin Berggren have been selected to the All-Ohio Valley Conference teams as voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.
Castaldo was named to the All-OVC first team as a defender while Roberts (midfielder) and Berggren (defender) were tabbed to the second team. The freshman pair of Castaldo and Berggren were also named to the All-Newcomer squad.
A native of Orland Park, Ill., Castaldo quickly left her mark on opposing defenses in her freshman season to earn All-OVC first team honors – the first for a Skyhawk freshman since 2015. She would total 1,639 minutes played while seeing action in every minute against Little Rock, Evansville, Mississippi State, Middle Tennessee, Indiana, Wright State, Eastern Illinois, Belmont (twice), Austin Peay, Morehead State, Southeast Missouri and Tennessee Tech.
