AMY MCGIVERN CLAIMS PAIR OF WEEKLY HONORS AFTER HUGE WEEKEND FOR SKYHAWK SOCCER

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Amy McGivern of the University of Tennessee at Martin soccer team claimed the adidas Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week and Tennessee Sports Writers Association Women's Soccer Player of the Week awards.
The Drumaness, Northern Ireland native was outstanding over the weekend as she netted five goals (two in the 2-0 win over Belmont and three in the 5-0 rout of Austin Peay). McGivern needed 11 shots (eight on goal) and just 146 minutes between the two matches to find the back of the net five times. She has scored a total of 10 goals over her last six matches.
This marks the second time this season McGivern has been tabbed as the league's offensive player of the week and the fourth of her career. She shared the award last week with Morehead State's Dani Wilson.
UT Martin hosts Eastern Kentucky on Friday, Oct. 19. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
